My experience working with Amir Gere was one of the first opportunities in my career as an actress to work on a project above student film level. I have subsequently had the pleasure of working with huge, big-budget, high-profile directors and production companies, including the BBC - and my experience working on Amir's film 'The Stranger' two years ago remains at the forefront of some of my most pleasurable experiences in the industry to date. As an actor, you are too often made to feel like the most disposable aspect of a shoot - Amir and the team of professionals he had assembled for this labour of love project couldn't have me feel more prepared, welcome and at ease.
He ran every aspect of his shoot in a manner that belied his relatively tender years, ensuring that everything went like clockwork and to schedule (which is almost unheard of on a film shoot). Amir is a consummate professional, incredibly hardworking, and a bit of a polymath! He would be a valuable asset to any production team, and you would do well to earmark him as one to watch. I feel lucky that I got to work with this very talented individual the outset of what cannot fail to be an outstanding career in the creative industry.
EJ Martin, Actress, The Stranger
I've had the pleasure of working with Amir on several short film shoots and creative projects. His knowledge and enthusiasm for film set him apart and he is a person who works well with colleagues. It was during January 2011 when we collaborated and produced a short drama/thriller called 'The Stranger'. Thanks to Amir's talent as a director, the short was picked up at Cannes Short Film Festival by Shorts International. Amir is a model professional and I thoroughly look forward to working with him again in the near future.
Roshan Thanki, Writer, The Stranger
I worked with Amir as a stills photographer on his short film The Stranger. It was a pleasure to collaborate with him and an enjoyable experience. He is a very talented up coming director and filmmaker, who fully understands the importance of a good on set photography. I felt very comfortable while doing my stills as Amir gave me plenty of space to do my work, which was ideal to obtain the images needed for the movie.
Robert Viglasky, Stills Photographer, The Stranger
It's a pleasure working with Amir, great with details and an amazing person - professional, reliable and fun!
Linda Valadas, Actress, Broken Guitar
“I've had the pleasure of working with Amir now for over 4 years. I've seen some of his earliest films to his most recent work. His obsession with film, love affair with story telling and passionate attention to detail, in my eyes, have always been his most power attributes as a director and exciting film maker. This fella has something really special going on.
